Kelly Ann Monahan is a friendly, familiar voice in the Nashville
area. You may have heard her announcing on the radio, you may have heard
her reporting for television. And hopefully you've heard her sing.
Having gotten her start on commercial radio as a traffic anchor in
Philadelphia, she made the leap to Nashville to pursue music, and began dj-ing
and reporting traffic on Nashville radio stations including Star 97, WPLN, and
92Q. Other stations that she has reported for over the years include:
WSM-AM, WWTN and Mix 92.9. She also held down the afternoon traffic
reporter position for Nashville television station WKRN for several years. She
won "Best Traffic Reporter" at the 2003 Nashville Achievement In Radio Awards,
and then became the news reporter and morning show producer for Star 97, from
which she was nominated for an AIR Award for "Best News Reporter."
She headed to Contemporary Christian station 94 FM The Fish in
Nashville as The Fish's afternoon drive personality soon after. This was
in conjunction with the nationally-broadcast Today's Christian Music
Network. From there, she went on to be the midday personality for
Nashville's country station 95.5 The Wolf.
Currently, Kelly is a producer and writer for Dial Global/Triton
Radio Networks. She also continues to write news and entertainment/feature
articles for different publications, and continues to write and report for
World Christian Broadcasting.
Kelly has voiced radio spots that have aired in markets
from Florida to New York City. Spots include: Apple Dental, BB&T
Bank, the CFN Network, Rosenthal Center, Brain Calm, the Grand Ole Opry and the
Ryman Auditorium.
And if you're looking for someone to sing on those spots, well,
she can do that too. Her voice has been heard on various jingles and
songs.
A singer/songwriter with a very identifiable and soulful voice,
she has become a regular performer at many of Nashville's hotspots, including
opening for major label artists such as Vince Gill and Shania Twain. She
also received the title "Suggested Artist" in the VH1 Song of the Year
contest. Kelly enjoys singing for Musicians On Call, which brings
the healing power of music to the besides of patients at Vanderbilt
Hospital in Nashville.
