The VOice Team's Bill Fondren

Best known for his work as a radio and TV traffic reporter, Bill Fondren first broke into the Nashville-area scene in 1996 when he worked on-air at WAKM in Franklin.  That was followed by several on-air stints at WPLN, Nashville Public Radio, while he was earning his MTS from Vanderbilt Divinity School.

Bill has voiced many projects, most notably a CD-ROM for the American Lung Association, commercials for Palmetto Rural Telephone and Digiph cellular service, commercials at Little Planet Learning, characters in Readio Theatre audio books, and numerous other spots while in radio.  Bill also voiced the introduction and chapter titles for the companion CD to Hither and Yon: A Travel Guide for the Spiritual Journey by the Reverend Becca Stevens, who is the chaplain of St. Augustine’s Episcopal Chapel on the campus of Vanderbilt University and founder of Magdalene, Inc.

Bill’s on-camera experience includes a speaking role in a commercial for the Tennessee Education Association.  He also portrayed the military scientist who invented the Slinky in a spot for American Forces Television.  An experienced interviewer, Bill hosted numerous public affairs shows and celebrity interviews for WUMR in Memphis while working on his MA in Communication.  More recently, Bill hosted a series of shows about non-profit agencies for Nashville’s Comcast cable channel 10, and he has also hosted interviews for the audio journal of Princeton Theological Seminary.

Bill enjoys spending time with his wife Mimi and their many cats.  His other interests include hiking, soccer, electric bass, music, volunteering at the Nashville Humane Association, movies, reading, snow skiing, NHL / Nashville Predators hockey, and religion / spirituality.
